Is this outfit one of the last hurrahs of the summer? These shots were taken during the latest heat wave in Toronto (many, many wiping-of-the-sweat photos did not make the cut), but the past few days have been wonderfully and cozily chilly. I have a feeling this is going to be one of the last times I wear shorts this year. Only smooth sweater sailing from here on in (one hopes).

Aside from the no-surprise-here black and white, I like to throw some tried and true blue denim into the mix, both to break up the monochromatic theme, but also because it just works. This top is one of those that is so classically cotton and summery that it allows me to not care at all how wrinkled it is--I'm going to wear it! That's the kind of attitude I love about the ease of summer dressing.
