I FOUND THEM.
I'm one to usually fixate on certain clothing items ("Yes, I do need another pair of black boots!") but from time to time I will add something to my wardrobe that I can say, quite honestly, I don't have already.
These jeans. I have been keeping my eye out for a pair of black destroyed skinnies and here they are! I was not necessarily looking for a high-waisted cut, but these are so flexible that they have to be the most comfortable pair of high-waisted jeans I have ever tried (plus, they just add another dimension of versatility now). Another thing that happens from time to time is my excitement for a piece to wear down some more. The rips looks tame now, but I know the more I wear them, the more they're going to be distressed, meaning the more I will love them.
It must be a natural reaction to want to tuck any shirt you're wearing into a pair of high-waisted bottoms, because that's all I wanted to do. Show off that waist! I raised my neckline to match with a simple turtleneck. After that, a camel-black-white combination seemed failproof, and I had one of the best kinds of outcomes: an effortless one. Now I'm just striving to making everyday dressing that easy. I find when you have pieces you love, those are the ones that feel best on and fall into place naturally.
